Parent Guidelines

MHS Parents,

We would like to encourage our Monarch community to support After Prom. Nationally, prom night always seems to include news reports of drunk-driving accidents and other incidents where teens make poor/dangerous choices. After Prom is designed to create a safe and fun place for every student following Prom.

This year, Prom is Saturday April 28, 2018.  Immediately following, After Prom will be held at Monarch High School from 11:30pm - 3:30 a.m. Please encourage your students to attend After Prom. After Prom is inexpensive, filled with fun, food, games, and prizes. The students love it! And parents love it because it creates a safe environment for students to have fun. The longer they stay at After Prom, the better and bigger the prizes!

If you would like to support the efforts of After Prom, there are several ways to become involved.
  • We welcome cash, time or prize donations.
  • Do not have parties at your house after the prom and please convince your kids to go to After Prom.
You are also welcome to attend the Community Open House here at the school from 8:00 - 10:00 p.m. on Saturday April 28, 2018 to see After Prom before it begins. Family, friends, and neighbors are all welcome!
  • If you own a business or know someone who does, you can help donate money, supplies, or prizes for student giveaways please contact Tanya Stearns or Kathi Oke  at
Let's make this Prom a safe and fun event for every student, and encourage our students to attend After Prom!

IDEAS & SUGGESTIONS

Have fun making your poster!

Use stickers, letters, captions, photos of your child through the years and other creative ideas. We suggest using COPIES of your favorite photos.

You might display your student’s future plans, such as the logo of the college he/she will attend.

Heavy attachments are strongly discouraged, as we wouldn’t want your poster to fall during the evening.
NOT CREATIVE?

Don’t worry! We have ways to make this easier for you.

The Scrapbook Shack in Louisville is offering assistance. You can drop in anytime for help. They have lots of fun MHS paper, stickers and great ideas. For more information and schedule please see their website.
